Renyuan Community Bookstore was founded by Mr. Hu Baosen, founder of the Henan Provincial Root Humanities Charity Foundation. It is a pure public welfare project plan under the Root Humanities Charity Foundation to promote the inheritance of traditional Chinese civilization by society. Du:Why did he name the Benyuan Community Bookstore at the beginning of its founding?
Yang: In 2010, we began to prepare the Henan Provincial Roots Humanities Charity Foundation, hoping to fulfill the responsibility of an entrepreneur and make sure to contribute to the society. In 2011, Mr. Hu Baosen officially launched the foundation, hoping to “trace the origin”. Henan is his “roots”. Whether it is a business pursuit or a fierce attack on civilization, Huaxia is a piece of land where Mr. Hu and his teachers did not want to leave. Based on policy support, and we hope to promote and implement the excellent traditional civilization of China in the community, we decided to build a community bookstore.
Root Community Bookstore is a modern bookstore form that we began to explore in 2012. The main purpose is to hope to use Chinese civilization to serve and build a modern society. At that time, we also reached a comrade and professors to have a fierce discussion. Among them, the most famous person is to do humanistic education, or perhaps it is a teaching of life, rather than a civilized industry. As a school of books, there should naturally be a place where the roots of the school should return to the roots, that is, the nature and roots of the school as the guide of humanities and life teaching. On the other hand, we must grow on this basis, develop a new form of it by revitalizing tradition, explore the modern effectiveness of the Community Bookstore as a place for community energy gathering, and shape new types of family relations and community relations. So when he founded the foundation, Mr. Hu finally chose the simplest name from the names of many business agreements – “Root”. Because all our life behaviors are to fundamentally govern and return to the root cause. Due to the lack of precedent in the trial of the Roots Foundation, it has always been exploring and operating side by side since the foundation was established. Teacher Hu knew this process slower, but he was willing to leave time and space to make the foundation grow and not rush to see scale.
Du: Most people hear the name of Rootou Community Bookstore, which will cause some thoughts. Why do you think of the Community Bookstore? What are the differences between the Root Community Bookstore and other contemporary bookstores? Where is its uniqueness?
Yang:Huaxia is the origin of the Central Chinese civilization, and the Book Academy is the carrier of the Central Chinese civilization. The School of Books is the precious wealth of the Chinese people. It promotes the creative transformation and innovative development of the School of Books of Books, and has serious contemporary value. Tomorrow we will discuss Chinese dream here. To revive Chinese civilization means not only to return to the roots and find the roots, but also to pay attention to the return of traditional books on the hospital.
Although there are many buildings and communities now, there are often lacks civilized scheming. With the continuous development of modern society, we have enjoyed more and more modern advantages, and the conditions of life are greatly improved and the methods of life are extremely convenient, but there are also problems that require reflection, which will inevitably ruin the relationship between people. Just like the master now lives on the first floor for several years, he doesn’t even know what the name of the neighboring neighbor is or what tasks to do. Therefore, we believe that the need to use Confucian wisdom to face the crisis and disadvantages of modern times. The concept of “community” in modern society has something to do with the “community” in academic meaningDifferent, but also have certain natural, historical and ideological relationships, and humanistic concerns should be regarded as the right meaning of modernization of community management.
We believe that compared with the teaching nature of the school, the school also needs to be put back to the career field. Therefore, the value concept of “community school” we proposed is to “present the world of meaning in the career world.” We hope that because of the community school, the emotional energy can be extended in the humanistic career, and its existence is precisely to satisfy people’s yearning for a wonderful humanistic career. In fact, the community school strongly relies on the real nature of life, focusing on the growth of life of ordinary people. In other words, everyone truly lives like life. So, how to present this concept in such a smallest social foundation unit in the community is exactly the mission and target location of the community’s libraryto raise a monthly price.
The community school is not a space concept, but a content service concept. Confucius said: “Be gentle and gentle, kind, is the teaching of “Pu”; dredging and knowing the teaching of “Pu” is the teaching of “Pu”.” We hope that through the community school, we can see the inheritance and innovation of traditional civilization by the Chinese school, as well as the influence and meaning of the content output of the school to contemporary society. The Roots Book Academy takes the community as the basis, establishes a gift with human meaning with respect to heaven and earth, respect for ancestors as the direction, and uses the twenty-four days as the time link to present four-hour courses and activities, gathers community friends to explore the origin of civilization and use piano and songs to regain the roots of their minds. Through community and civilized volunteers, they promote the inheritance of Chinese traditional civilization and the implementation of humanistic education in their real life, so that people can find the sense of learning in their humanistic career here.
In 2022, the Henan Provincial Party Committee proposed to build “Book Nose Henan”, cultivate and enrich the “one city, one product, one place, one special, and a hundred flowers blooming”, implement the “five-in-one” system promotion, with bookstores as the main body, and urban book rooms, community book rooms, farmhouses and other reading facilities as the loading, building energy for the community who love reading and read books. The root cause of the Community School is also here. It applies the Community School’s situation to form a new form of public civilization career service that is completely in line with the characteristics of Chinese traditional civilization, closely integrated with the community’s neighbors, and can be reused and promoted.
